Friday August 10th

Last day of vacation and we know there was so much more that we wanted to do, but ran out of time and money. We drove by the remains of the Pavilion
and saw the empty fields
and were hoping to have as much fun next year when the new theme park opens.
The kids woke up early enough so we could take them to Magiquest and be the first in the door when they opened.
This was Sloan and Walker’s second time and they worked on completing seven quests.
Troy took Connor and after completing his training he was out there running around with the best of them. We spent about 2 hours inside before their time ran out and then we headed back to the house. We had a quick lunch and then headed out to the beach to get some swimming in before vacation ended. Today we made it out during low tide, add on the fact that it was windy and the waves would beat you to death we only managed about a hour in the ocean before heading up to the pool. We spent the next couple of hours in the pool and under the easy-up to get out of the direct sunlight. We forced ourselves to go inside and get ready for dinner. First we headed down to Surf Harbor for our annual picture
and then traveled down to Garden City to get some more pictures.
It is always a joy to take pictures with hungry kids and a steamed up camera. After all the fighting about getting everyone to smile we headed up to Landry’s for dinner. We called ahead for seating and only had about a 15 minute wait.
Our waiter tonight must have been new because first we did not get any silverware until practically begging for it to eat the appetizers and then the drinks did not have any ice. Fortunately the food was great as always and that is what saved the night. When you brag about a restaurant and take new people to it you want everything to be perfect. Don’t forget to stop and get your coupon for a free appetizer or dessert before going inside from the info booth near the bridge.
Mandy had the grilled scallop and veggies
I got the seafood penne
After dinner we made a quick stop at the Toys and Co. Store to let Sloan spend some of her birthday money. When we got back to the house we went into clean up and pack the car mode. What a sad time when you realize you won’t be going back down to the beach for a swim or to sit in the sun until next year. We let the kids jump back into the pool to say goodbye. We got 80% packed tonight and the rest we will throw inside in the morning before leaving. Now it is time to get in the bed and get some sleep.
