Wednesday August 8th

Another morning with some coffee on the balcony watching the sun come up over top of the oceanfront houses. Had to run up to CVS to get one of those eyeglass repair kits after Walker came to me with his glasses in one hand and the lenses in the other. Fixed his glasses and then went down to set up the tent for the family to use today. Then my dad and I headed over to the 501 outlets so he could find some shoes at Columbia or Timberland but had no luck. We made it home for a lite lunch and then headed down to the beach as everyone was coming back to get out of the blazing heat. Sloan, Troy, Forrest and I spent the rest of the afternoon playing in the rough waves and then enjoyed the strong breeze until it was time to take up camp and head inside to get ready for dinner. Tonight Troy was taking the his kids to the Aquarium
and mine wanted to go as well. We dropped off Sloan and Walker and then headed to the Giant Crab for dinner.
While waiting in line, one of their employees was taking souvenir pictures for you to remember your night there and he even took one with our camera.

We headed inside, were told the layout of the buffet and let loose. But when we got to the crab leg section we found no crab legs and an employee who spoke little English said “a few minutes before they are ready”. Then they finally brought them out after a LONG 10 minutes wait. I was unable to get the picture because we started eating right away and did not even think about it until the fourth plate was empty. Despite the initial scare with the crab legs running late this may have been the best buffet we have had in many years. The legs were not soggy or filled with water, the rest of the food did not all taste the same and the desserts were very fresh. We got a phone call from my brother telling us they were finished at the Aquarium and heading to a couple stores before getting something to eat. We stopped at Broadway to buy Sloan’s birthday gift and then by Margaritaville to get Mandy’s co-workers a couple of gifts. We had to stop at the Walmart on 544 before heading home. We were told about all the sights the kids saw at the aquarium and what they got to touch and what they would not touch. The in-laws and parents had dinner at the Southside Grille and were very happy with their meals. All I heard about was the best Philly Cheese steak in the world. They got to meet the owners and commented on how nice he was. The rest of the night was spent sitting on the balcony watching some fireworks go off from the beach. A couple hours later we realized it was 11pm and it looked like everyone had gone to bed.
