Thursday August 9th

Today is Sloan’s birthday and the first thing she wanted was to be able to sleep in until she woke up. So Walker and I headed over to the Tupelo driving range to hit our annual bucket of balls, Walker is continueing to improve while I head the other way. More practice needed.
In fact, she was the last to get up and when she came downstairs we al started to sing Happy Birthday to her and she loved it!
After breakfast, we headed outside and swam in the pool until it was time to head up to Shoreline Water sports for para sailing. We arrived, signed the waivers, paid, suited up with life jackets and then waited. For some reason you have to get there 15 minutes early to get all that done. First group out was Troy, Krista and her mother Eva.

They had to ride out to the boat in what looked like a banana boat but had two rows of seats and pulled behind a jet ski. The rest of us waited about 15 minutes before it was our turn to ride out and get on the boat.

Our group consisted of Sloan, Mandy, Walker(just going for the boat ride) my mom and dad and then myself. The ride out was as much fun as the actual para sailing.

we love flying
225 feet in the air!

here go my parents
Today the water was rough and we hit some pretty good waves. We (Sloan, Mandy and I) headed up first and once you get up to a certain height you don’t hear much other than the wind in the sail or each other talking. We did not see much marine life this trip but thought we saw something jumping out of the water. We were up about what felt like 10 minutes and next it was my parents turn. They went up and away in no time giving us a chance to talk to the captain and his mate. They said they have a 500 foot rope and we were about 225 - 250 feet above the water. When it was time for the parents to come down one of the planes with the banners looked like it was going to fly right into them. When they got back to the boat they had mixed reviews. Mom loved it and dad said it was alright but don’t look for him to do it again. On our way back to shore Walker’s hat blew off and the jet ski driver was nice enough to go back and get it before it sank. We headed back to the house for a light lunch and then down to the pool the rest of the afternoon. Tonight Sloan had picked Miyabi for her birthday dinner and since our group of 13 was so large we had to splint up into 2 tables.

If you ever eat here, come with a appetite because the amount of food you get is unbelievable.
Everyone had to-go boxes but before we left the employees came out to sing Happy Birthday and then made Sloan do the Chicken dance. After dinner we headed to the Coastal Grand Mall for our Myrtle Beach Message Board meet-up. We arrived a little late but better late than never. It was great seeing old friends like Patrish, Wally, Leo, Katie, Brett and the girls,
BobL and his family and then meet new friends Dawne, Frank, Kyle, Chris, Marsha,Dakota .
I was a little leery about having a meet up at the mall but I think it worked out in the long run because I had a chance to talk to more this time than in the last two meet ups I have attended combined. But still it always seems like someone gets missed. We were only able to stay a couple hours and had to head back to the house so we could have a birthday party for Sloan. A quick dash into Gamestop so Walker could buy himself a game and ran into Della and her family.
On our way home we realized we still had to run by the store to get a cake and then Sloan said that she would rather have Krispy Kreme instead. We picked up a couple dozen and headed to the house for a little party with the family.
She had a Calico Critters birthday
as that is the new thing she loves.
After the party we headed outside to enjoy the sea breeze on the balcony. Before we knew it was bed time.
